How Can I Send Emails to My Own Alias?

Summary

Learn how to allow emails sent to your own alias to appear in your inbox.

Body

Introduction

Google Workspace users may notice that messages sent to their email alias aren't in their inbox. For example, if Jane Charger uses her jc0031@uah.edu account to send an email to Jane.Charger@uah.edu, the email message does not appear in her Inbox. However, if Joe Charger uses his account to send an email to Jane.Charger@uah.edu, the email does arrive in Jane's inbox.

This is an intentional design by Google to avoid inbox cluttering. If you'd like to receive these messages in your inbox, follow the steps below to add your email alias as a "Send mail as" address for your account.
