As of September 2020, G Suite has implemented a new integrated workspace that brings G Suite apps closer together. This feature is now rolling out to Gmail on the web and Android. The feature will provide four distinct components: Mail, Chat, Rooms, and Meet.
With this launch, users will be able to open and co-edit documents with their team without leaving Gmail, making collaboration more seamless. Additionally, new tools have been introduced to help users prioritize and stay focused. These include the ability to assign group tasks, get notified about task updates in rooms, pin important rooms, set availability to "Do not disturb," and better protect your time with status notices in Chat.
