How do I change my UAH Directory information?

The UAH Directory Search (https://www.uah.edu/directory) displays the contact information, title, department, and office location of UAH faculty and staff as well as the name and email address of students.

Faculty & Staff

The UAH Directory pulls information from Banner. If you would like to change your preferred first name, work telephone number, or office location for your account, you may do so by submitting a request through the OITPortal:

  1. Log into oitportal.uah.edu with your ChargerID and password
  2. Select the Directory tab
  3. Fill in the fields of the information you want changed
  4. Select Submit request to Human Resources

You can also make changes to your preferred name using Self-Service Banner. Learn how to update your preferred name in UAH systems.

You may also request a change your email alias using the OITPortal:

  1. Log into oitportal.uah.edu with your ChargerID and password
  2. Select the My Email tab
  3. Fill in the provided field with your preferred email alias and select Check Availabilty
  4. If the email alias is available, select Request Change

If you need to change additional information, such as your job title or department, please contact Human Resources directly at hr@uah.edu

Students

The UAH Directory displays only the legal name and email alias of UAH students. Please see the related article How do I change my name with the university? for information on how to update your name in UAH systems. 

You may also request a change your email alias using the OITPortal:

  1. Log into oitportal.uah.edu with your ChargerID and password
  2. Select the My Email tab
  3. Fill in the provided field with your preferred email alias and select Check Availabilty
  4. If the email alias is available, select Request Change

How do I remove my information from the UAH Directory?

Under FERPA law, students have the right to request that their directory information removed from the directory. Learn more about FERPA and student confidentiality.

Students who'd like to have their directory information removed can submit the FERPA Information Restriction form linked at the end of the Registrar's FERPA page. To access the form, sign in with your Charger ID and password, authenticate with Duo, then check the box next to "Please do not release my 'directory information.'" Sign the form then click Save for your request to be completed.
