URL Shorteners and QR Code Creators

Overview

OIT does not have a recommended QR code creator or URL shortener. Some of your available options include, but are not limited to:

QR Code Creators:

  • Chrome QR code generator

  1. Go to the Webpage you want to share

  2. Click the share this page icon right of the search bar

  3. Select QR Code from the menu 

  4. A pop up will appear with the QR code

  5. Click Download to save as an image on your computer

  • qrcodecreator.com

    • Many different options available for the QR codes appearance 

    • Requires the creation of an account 

  • Chrome extensions

    • There are many different chrome extensions QR Code creation

    • Check the chrome webstore

  • Bitly.com

    • Requires an account

    • Free accounts are limited in the number of QR codes they can create in a month

    • QR code customization

URL Shorteners:

  • Bitly.com

    • Requires an account

    • Free account has limits on number of URLs you can shorten per month

  • Chrome extensions:

    • There are many different Chrome extensions for URL shortening

    • Check the chrome web store
