First you will need to log in to Xtender from the link below using your Single Sign On credentials.
Once logged in, the first thing that needs to be done is to make sure scanning is enabled for your user account. Click your account icon in the top right corner of the window and then User Settings.
In the list of options, look for Import and click it to expand the options underneath. Check the box for Enable Scanning, then click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page.
Next you will want to test and make sure you are seeing the scan options within Xtender and that the Captiva plugin is working for you. Select an appropriate area from the Applications list to the left, then start a New Document. *** Note that for testing purposes we will not save the document and just cancel afterwards ***
In the new document window, there should be a section labeled Scanner in the top toolbar. If your scanner is connected and Captiva is working correctly, the icon on the right should change from gray to blue. *** If it remains gray, try rebooting your computer and accessing Xtender again. Should that not resolve it then reach out to the Help Desk for further assistance.***
Click the blue icon and a window will pop up asking if the web application can access the computer’s scanner. Click Allow.
When the Scanner Selection box opens, select your scanner from the list; usually the preferred option will automatically be highlighted. If for some reason you do not see the scanner listed, you can try unchecking the box at the bottom that says Show only connected scanners. Once selected, click OK.
If there is no problem with the scanner access, it should take you back to the Xtender window and the icon to the left in the Scanner section of the toolbar should now be blue.
Click the left blue icon to start the scan process. Once the documents finish and show up in the preview window, look over them to make sure the quality looks good. If everything is to your liking, cancel the document and exit out of Xtender.
