Unable to log into Google due to "Service unavailable" error

In October 2022, users connected to the UAH VPN may find that they're unable to log into UAH email through a browser due to this error:

"Service unavailable
This service isn't available in your country"

OIT is currently working to resolve this issue. The workaround is to follow the steps below:

If you are currently connected to the UAH campus VPN:

1. Disconnect from the VPN.
2. Open your Web browser and visit mail.uah.edu
3. Login and use Google Mail or another Google app of choice in your browser.
4. Connect to the VPN again.

If you are not currently connected to the UAH VPN:

1. Download and connect to the campus VPN.
2. Connect to the Google app of choice in your browser.

To determine whether you are connected to the campus VPN, visit ip.uah.edu.
