FAQ: Switching to new Adobe license

Overview

This article answers frequently asked questions related to the campus agreement for Adobe products which became available in Spring 2025.

A faculty or staff member who used an Adobe product before Spring 2025 is likely to have a license which has expired or will expire near the time that the campus agreement was put into place.

Can I still access data associated with my old license?

Yes, it is likely that you accessed that data with your UAH email address (formatted as ChargerID@uah.edu) to access the old license. If so, you'll see the Profile Picker when you log into adobe.com with the same email address. Please follow the steps below to get what you need from your old license.

  1. Enter your email address and, upon seeing the profile picker, choose Personal Account.

  2. Access the data you had stored in the cloud.
  3. Download it for local use

Should I store data in the Adobe Cloud when using the new license?

OIT recommends that you keep your assets on local storage due to the limited cloud storage available.

Will my old license go away?

This question may be better posed to Adobe since few things last forever, but OIT expects that your old account will remain available for up to 25 months. It is recommended that you download your assets as soon as you can so you don't lose them. When a license first expires, that doesn't necessarily cause the account to be deleted. While you won’t be able to use the applications under the personal account after the license expires, it is quite likely you'll be able to view and download the assets.

Should I continue to use my old license?

When the old license expires, please use the new UAH license instead. It can be accessed by choosing the Company or School Account from the profile picker.

What if I am not seeing the profile picker?

If you’re already signed in to your Adobe account on your computer, you might not see the profile prompt. If this happens to you, make sure to sign out of your account in all apps (Adobe Creative Cloud, Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.) and close all Adobe applications. Once that’s done, you can reopen Creative Cloud and sign in again - this time, you should receive the prompt to select your UAH profile.
