Click Request Service on this page to begin the process of obtaining and installing an InCommon Signature (Client) Certificate that can be used to digitally sign Portable Document Format (PDF) documents.
InCommon client certificates are similar to a conventional handwritten signature in that the certificate identifies the person signing a document. Unlike a handwritten signature, a certificate-based signature is difficult to forge because it contains encrypted information that is unique to the signer. While kept in electronic format, electronic signatures can be easily verified and recipients can ascertain whether the document was modified after the signer initially signed the document.
