How to Add Custom Links to myUAH

Introduction

On September 28th, 2023, myUAH transitioned from its previous platform, Ellucian Luminis, to its replacement, Ellucian Experience. 

In this new version of the web portal, you are able to customize your myUAH experience. Your dashboard is made up of cards - individual modules centered around a specific category or topic. You're able to add, remove, and organize these cards according to what’s most important to you.

You can also add custom links to the Web Links card. Follow the steps below to learn how.

Steps

Add the Card to Your Dashboard

First, add the Web Links card to your myUAH dashboard.

1. Log in to myUAH at my.uah.edu
2. Click Discover more at the end of your list of cards
   
3. In the Find cards search bar, search for "Web Links"
   
4. To add the Web Links card to your dashboard, click the bookmark icon at the top right corner of the card
   
5. To return to the myUAH home screen, click the Menu button in the top right corner and then click Home
   

The Web Links card is now added to your homepage. You can click and drag to reorganize the cards on your homepage dashboard.

Find the URL

Before adding the custom link, first make sure you have the correct URL beginning in HTTP/HTTPS. Below is an example of a valid and invalid link:

Invalid link: canvas.uah.edu

Valid link: https://canvas.uah.edu

You can obtain the valid URL for a UAH service by copying the link from existing myUAH cards. 

1. Locate the link you want to copy
2. Right-click (or CTRL+Click on a Mac) on the hyperlink to view additional options
   
3. Click Copy link address (or Copy link on a Mac)
   

This URL is now saved to your clipboard.

Add the Custom Link

Once you have the correct URL for your quick link, add it to the Web Links card.

1. Click ADD NEW LINK on the Web Links card
   
2. In the Link title field, enter a title of your choosing
3. In the Link URL field, enter a valid HTTP/HTTPS URL. If the URL is saved to your clipboard, right-click the text field (CTRL+click on Mac) and click Paste
4. Click Add
   

Your new link will now appear on the Web Links card. To edit the link, click the three dots next to it.
