Update Your Contact Information in Banner

Prepare for a future need to reset your password!

Make sure your contact information is accurate in our main system, an Enterprise Resource Program called Banner. See more information (with graphics) about this process in this set of slides.

First, log into myUAH with your Charger ID and password.

Then, click the link for Personal Information under Student Records in the Student Services section.

  1. Click Change Security Question.
  2. Enter your Charger password where you’re prompted to confirm it at the top and choose 5 questions (one at a time) and store answers. Capitalization and spacing matter, so take note of exactly how you answer the questions.
  3. Click Update Addresses and Phones and modify an existing address. Make sure you have stored your phone number with "Cell" as the type.
  4. Click Update E-mail Addresses and make sure you have a Personal email address on file.

If you have tried the wrong password with your Charger ID three times, your account could become locked. To unlock your account, use the Self-Service Reset Tool, contact the OIT Help Desk or simply wait seven hours before trying again.

To have your password to be reset, please contact the help desk in one of the following ways:

  1. Send an email to helpdesk@uah.edu and include a photo of yourself holding your driver's license.
  2. Visit the OIT Help Desk on campus in the Salmon Library between 9-5 Monday-Friday. Be sure to bring your photo ID.
  3. If none of these options are possible, you can fax a copy of your photo ID, along with your signature to 256-824-5623. Please note that we will only verify through this method if the information and photo are legible. Many government issued ID's have counterfeiting prevention features that make faxes illegible.

Once we have confirmed your identity, we will reset your Charger password for you. We strongly suggest you customize your password immediately after you request to have it reset by the OIT Help Desk.
